Discussions on where large-scale PV goes next, later this month

In 2012 the European solar industry, having been spoiled by success in recent years, must face new challenges. Weak demand in the European market is driving on the price war, forcing companies to consolidate their cash flows. With its focus set on large-scale solar plants - which again will form the majority of new installations in Europe in 2012 - the "PV Power Plants - EU 2012" conference will provide direction in these rapidly changing conditions.

The event will take place on 29 and 30 March in Vienna.

In addition to providing an overview to the latest happenings in the European market for large solar plant and its future prospects, the event will allow for the professional exchange with experts and decision makers in the industry. The focus of the conference will be both the potential for large solar plants with their associated grid integration and also technological issues, not least the requirements that must be met for the direct sale of solar energy and the energy transfer.

The aspects of finance, recycling, quality assurance and roof mounted PV farms on industrial buildings will also be discussed at the conference. There will also be an in-depth look at the markets in Turkey and Italy. Speakers will include Paula Mints (Navigant Consulting), Manfred Bächler of PerVorm, Bernhard Beck of Belectric Solarkraftwerke, Markus Kohler (Edisun Power) and Prof. Dr. Sener Oktik, GENSED Turkish PV Industry Association.

The two-stream conference is targeted at module and cell manufacturers, producers of inverters and their parts, component suppliers, energy utilities, financial institutions, insurance providers and legal specialists.

The event is expected to attract around 200 participants from all parts of the world.
