Innotech Solar uses special glass to boost PV yields

The Norwegian company Innotech Solar is to showcase the new polycrystalline ITS Economy Module Series at Intersolar 2011 in June. The modules are manufactured in Sweden and feature specially textured glass that reduces reflection.

The company explains that its new photovoltaic modules are treated by means of Sunarc technology and, compared with conventional glass, “increases the yield of modules when the sun is low in the sky – during the winter months and evening hours for example”. By using optimised solar cells, manufacturing ITS Economy Modules also significantly saves energy and resources, says the company.

The new modules represent the first product series being manufactured by Innotech Solar at the REC solar group’s former production site in Glava, Sweden. Innotech Solar purchased the site together with Perfekta Solar AB and Scatec AS in January 2011. The ITS Economy Modules are available in the following power rating: 200, 210, 220 and 230 Wp. The company guarantees that each module achieves at least the specified nominal power.

“To manufacture the new modules series, we combine the manufacturing quality of one of Europe’s most modern production sites with the product quality of the innovative ITS solar cells from our site in the Norwegian city of Narvik. Our customers therefore receive a high value product that is very cost effective,” says Robert Händel, CSO at Innotech Solar. Modules manufactured at the Glava production site are already regularly achieving peak performances according to the ongoing performance tests conducted by PHOTON magazine.

ITS Economy Modules are particularly suitable for roof-top installations and are fitted with MC connectors. The modules come with a five year product warranty. The performance warranty is 90% of the specified minimum output power for 10 years, and 80% for 25 years.
