The solar system features premium Conergy components, combining the high-efficiency Conergy PowerPlus solar modules with Conergy IPG 300k central inverters, enable Big Shopping Centers ltd to further pursue their eco-friendly strategy.
The company has ambitious goals: It is planning to install solar systems on the rooftops of 10 of its shopping centres in Israel that are spread all over the country, and is considered to be one of the pioneers and main players in this field. With the completion of the first solar plant built by a designated subsidiary of Big Shopping Centers together with Conergy’s local partner Unirom Electronics who was responsible for the planning, installation and the electrical design, the chain started this ambitious project.
This particular PV plant is the second in Israel’s mid-size category that has been completed with the use of Conergy`s high quality solar equipment for the installation. The market is a very promising one which shows dynamic growth after the latest changes in the country’s subsidy system: Experts predict an annual growth of close to 50% per year until 2013. And Conergy benefits from its long-standing experience in the fairly young market: During the last six months, Conergy has doubled the volume of the entire last year and continues to cooperate with the key players of this promising market that is expected to reach a total of 80MW in 2011.
“We are extremely pleased to be part of this project,” says Dieter Schmitt, President of Conergy in Greece. “We support the future of renewable energy in Israel with our experience, know-how and the latest technology. The government aims to reach 10% of their energy production out of renewable energy sources. We are proud to cooperate with Unirom Electronics, a key provider of Power Solutions in Israel for more than 20 years in order to pave the way for the governmental targets. The strong collaboration and mutual cooperation between the two of us was the secret formula behind this success."
