The solar installation is scheduled for completion in August. Push Power are creating a bespoke solar array, consisting of 5,100 panels generating 3.2 MW. This will make a significant contribution to Gressingham Foods’ decarbonisation plans, displacing more than 670 tonnes of carbon in the first year alone, supporting the company’s ongoing sustainability strategy and long-term energy goals.
The installation is being financed by Centrica Business Solutions as part of a Purchase Power Agreement with their client Gressingham Foods.
“Every Push Power project is custom designed to meet the unique needs, budgets and goals of the end user” said Push Power Managing Director Andy Khan. “Working closely with Centrica Business Solutions and Gressingham Foods our team is underway to deliver a system which will power-up Gressingham’s energy efficiency goals, minimise their carbon footprint and significantly reduce their overall energy costs.”
Prior to the start of construction, vigorous environmental testing was carried out to safeguard the protection of wildlife and ensure the development has a positive impact on the area and local community. The array will stretch across multiple acres of land adjacent to Gressingham’s main facility, transforming an unused greenfield site into a powerhouse of clean energy.
“The new solar installation at our Redgrave site will help Gressingham to reduce our overall carbon footprint, aligning with our wider sustainability goals” added Fiona Wilson, Head of Health, Safety, Security and the Environment at Gressingham Foods. “It will provide a substantial portion of our energy needs, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources. Working with Push Power and Centrica Business Solutions has been a fantastic partnership as they delivered a bespoke solution tailored to our needs.”
