BZEE Academy puts onshore and offshore training under one roof

The Wind Hub Hamburg concept is a response to stakeholder demands to overcome the outdated segregation between onshore and offshore training and offer wind energy customers one-stop training solutions. Trainees and company staff are currently forced to travel all over Europe in search of customised training.

The Hub’s equipment and infrastructure will allow for an extensive range of training assignments focused on the installation, service and maintenance and repair of wind turbine installations and components together with comprehensive training solutions for critical safety and rescue operations. Cooperation with new partners will also increase the range of training services on offer.

Hamburg’s infrastructure makes it possible to combine internal and external training close to base and to pool valuable resources. Additionally, Hamburg is easy to reach for international customers and partners.

Wind Hub Hamburg will offer the complete range of proven BZEE modules and at the same time enable an increased focus on the development of customer-specific training solutions to meet the Industry’s new challenges. The Hub design includes dedicated manufacturer training arenas for the development and testing of innovative training solutions using full-scale equipment.

The Wind Hub Hamburg initiative will be implemented by Husum-based BZEE Academy in cooperation with the Competence Management Group with 20 years of experience in offshore training and training centres in Amsterdam and Manila.

The new partnership marks the launch of a powerful training network for the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions that creates exciting synergies between established centres in Amsterdam, Delfzijl, Emden, Husum, Egersund and Northumberland.

BZEE’s Husum facility will continue to play a strategic role in company development and will concentrate on the design and construction of specialized wind energy training equipment for the global market. Additionally, BZEE plans to provide full-scale safety and rescue training for both onshore and offshore operations at the Husum airport base in Schwesing.

In November 2012, BZEE Academy will open its Hamburg office to oversee Hub developments and update customers and partners on the new training perspectives.
