TUAL expands R&D base for cutting-edge charger technology with new Bicester Motion headquarters

The new cross-functional facility marks the next stage in the company’s business’ phased growth strategy. Consolidating the company’s commercial product development, testing laboratories and prototyping capabilities into one customer-facing hub, the new comprehensive, full-service site delivers an optimised environment for efficient collaboration and advancing development of its charging solutions.

The headquarters are complemented by access to Bicester Motion’s dynamic test track, facilitating live demonstrations and on-demand testing of the company’s technology. Together, they provide a unique setting for showcasing the development of its flagship PowerUp Charger – the highly resilient, rapidly deployable, and battery-buffered DC charging solution designed to overcome grid limitations and deliver dependable, fast charging wherever fleets need it most.

With TUAL’s software development operations continuing in Glasgow, Scotland, the new Bicester Motion site gives the business a burgeoning space for customer engagement and applied innovation – reinforcing its dual-hub growth strategy.

“The move into our new full-service site represents a pivotal step in TUAL’s journey” said Phil Clarke, Founder and CEO, TUAL. “It gives us the space and visibility to accelerate commercial product development while welcoming customers into an environment designed for collaboration and real-world testing. With the PowerUp Charger already proving its capability in challenging fleet environments, these facilities allow us to build on that momentum and deliver new innovation to market faster.”

The move follows a series of milestones for TUAL, including its strategic partnership with Polarium to deploy its high-performance, cloud-connected LFP batteries for the first time as part of the PowerUp Charger systems, alongside planned roll-out across Scotland – showcasing the technology’s exceptional resilience and performance in remote, grid-constrained locations.

“TUAL’s technology is redefining what’s possible in commercial EV charging, giving fleet operators and owners of grid-constrained sites the flexibility to fully commit to the EV transition” added Daniel Geoghegan, Chief Executive, Bicester Motion (APC). “Their new standalone site at Bicester Motion reflects both their ambition and the growing importance of dependable charging solutions to the wider mobility sector, so we’re delighted to see the business expand its presence here.”

The company’s new site is located in the large standalone Unit 135 at Bicester Motion, opposite classic motoring specialists Hagerty and world-leading motorsport component supplier Penske Racing Shocks, fully immersed in the Bicester Motion ecosystem.
