GeoPura’s Hydrogen Power Units (HPUs) and green hydrogen will provide critical power for the main stage across Lorde’s one-off concert on Friday 28 August and FORWARDS Festival on 29-30 August, where artists including Little Simz, Tems and Goldie will perform.
The deployment forms part of the West of England Clean Power Pilot, which is testing how green hydrogen and battery systems can replace diesel generators across Bristol’s live music, film and TV sectors. The initiative builds on the legacy of Massive Attack’s ACT 1.5 show on Bristol Downs in 2024.
GeoPura’s HPUs generate electricity from green hydrogen with no CO2, NOx or particulate emissions at the point of use, with pure water as the only by-product. Artists performing on FORWARDS’ West Stage will even be invited to drink the water produced from the generation of power for their performances.
