New REA CEO to give keynote speech at Birmingham’s NEC

The new CEO of the Renewable Energy Association (REA), Dr Nina Skorupska, will give her first keynote speech at The Renewables Event (TRE) to be held at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on 11th September.

Dr Skorupska took over from Gaynor Hartnell on 29th July and will give the first talk on day two of the event in which she will focus on the increasingly important role for on-site renewable energy technologies in the energy mix of the future.

“I’m looking forward to getting involved in my first trade conference as REA Chief Executive, and I can’t think of a more fitting occasion for my first keynote speech than The Renewables Event” said Dr Skorupska. “The most exciting part for me will be meeting the people who work in this wonderful industry. I’m eager to get to know our members and find out what obstacles and opportunities are facing their businesses. I’m also keen to share with those companies who aren’t members yet the excellent work my team is doing to help our members expand their businesses and grow the UK renewables industry.”

Later on in the day the REA’s Head of On-site Renewables, Mike Landy, will give a talk explaining the latest policy developments in the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the opportunities for businesses looking to invest in green heating. The REA will also be revealing new publications on its exhibition stand (Stand B12), which will include the latest issue of REA News, the association’s twice-yearly magazine, and factsheets on Feed-in Tariffs, the Renewable Heat Incentive and Electricity Market Reform.
