Renewable Energy Magazine reaches 63,660 unique visitors in September

According to data provided by OJD/Nielsen Online, Renewable Energy Magazine broke its own record in September attracting close to 64,000 unique visitors. The site received 107,011 visits with hits on 270,559 pages.

Traffic on the Renewable Energy Magazine website (combined with the sister sites in Spanish Energías Renovables and amERica) reached a new all-time high in September of 63,660. This figure is the number of unique visitors who accessed the site during the month. An average of 3,124 unique visitors accessed Renewable Energy Magazine to read our articles and interviews and use the other information services we provide, such as the job bank, company directory and agenda. A year earlier, in September 2010, we attracted 49,538 unique visitors. The average duration of each visit was 2 minutes and 57 seconds.

According to Luis Merino, co-founder and director of Haya Comunicación – the publishers behind Renewable Energy Magazine – this growth in traffic is due, among other factors, to the increasing contribution of international traffic generated by Renewable Energy Magazine and AmERica – the Spanish website focusing on the American continent. “The launch of the free digital version of the Energías Renovables monthly print magazine also had an impact, as did the steady growth of traffic from social networks. We already boast 6,579 Twitter followers and 2,199 on Facebook,” explains Merino.

The number of subscribers receiving individual e-newsletters is also rising steadily each week. Energías Renovables publishes four different newsletters (wind, bioenergy, solar and renewables in general). Renewable Energy Magazine, which offers its own proprietary content which differs from that published by Energías Renovables, also has four specialized e-newsletters covering the same topics, while amERica publishes a weekly newsletter in Spanish.

The boost in traffic resulting from the international content is clear. OJD data show that 42% of unique visitors are from outside Spain (where Haya Comunicación first published Energías Renovables ten years’ ago). By country, the majority of our readers are, in order of importance, from: Spain, the US, Mexico, the UK, Argentina, Germany, Chile, India, France and Colombia. The content of Energías Renovables, Renewable Energy Magazine and amERica represent the best information on renewable energy, in Spanish and English, in the world, with readers in 149 countries worldwide.

Traffic data on our website are public and can be found on the OJD Interactive website, accessible from our own website (by clicking on the logo which is next to the Advertising link). The number of unique visitors in September is the highest since the data certified by OJD Interactive started to be collected by Nielsen Online, one of the world's leading companies in this field.
