Ukraine Partnership Bureau searching for sponsors for new renewables research study

The Ukraine Partnership Bureau, a business initiative comprising young people who see advantages in joint efforts and actions to improve the business environment and solving problems associated with the transition to a market economy, are looking for sponsors for a complex research study investigating the market potential for conventional and renewable energy in Ukraine.

The 180-page study entitled Renewable Energy Investment Opportunities: Ukraine 2010-2010 was conducted between February and June 2010 and is being published in Russian and English.

This report provides an overview summarising complex research into the market for conventional and renewable energy in Ukraine. Detailed analysis is provided into the current state of Ukraine's energy market, from production to final consumption of non-renewable energy resources. Sectors covered include renewable energy (wind power, biofuels, solar energy, geothermal power, small-scale hydropower).

The main characteristics of the market as a whole and of each sector are separately investigated in the overview, while an international perspective is provided for each particular sector and how this relates to the situation in Ukraine, including natural potential sources of power, state programmes, legislative base, list of working companies, estimate of the current volume of the market, and projection of potential development for the next 5-10 years.

Boosting clean tech investments

“Special attention is given to statistic and data which would help potential investors with investment analysis and assessment of the potential markets for technology and equipment in the aforementioned energy sectors,” explains a spokesperson for the Ukraine Partnership Bureau.

The report also contains a chapter on energy efficiency and energy saving, including a description of the largest opportunities - consumers of primary energy where the greatest structural changes are expected in 2011-2018 and which will be in greatest demand among potential investors and the manufacturers and suppliers technological solutions which increase energy efficiency and energy saving.

Elsewhere in the report attention turns to solar energy, geothermal power, biofuels (bioethanol and biodiesel, pellets and fuel briquettes from vegetable waste, and biogas), and large and small-scale hydropower.

A chapter on Wind power in Ukraine includes analysis of opportunities for development of wind power and the current market situation.
