Array Technologies selected as G24-YEKA tracker supplier for 260 MW solar project in Türkiye by Pekintas Group

Global provider of solar tracking technology, software, services and foundation solutions, Array Technologies, has announced, with Turkish construction group Pekintas, the selection of Array’s OmniTrack terrain-following product as the tracker technology for the G24 – Karaman YEKA solar project in Türkiye.

The site is located in Karaman Province and is an investment project of Pekintas Group. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) subsidiary of Pekintas Group, Schmid Pekintas Investment Energy (SPI Enerji), has undertaken the EPC development of the project and will provide the modules using solar cells from P-Tech Solar, a producer of Turkish-manufactured TOPCON+ solar cells. STC Solar will directly deliver and install the technology.

This is the first project for Array in Türkiye’s Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynak Alanları (YEKA) programme, which designates large-scale renewable energy zones to accelerate solar and wind deployment while promoting domestic manufacturing, R&D, and technology transfer.

The initiative aims to expand renewable capacity, strengthen high-tech capabilities, and reduce reliance on imported natural gas in the country’s power mix. As part of the YEKA program, the project will include locally manufactured content identified for the Karaman site.

Array’s OmniTrack terrain-following tracker is designed to minimise terrain modifications during construction by following natural land contours, thereby reducing costs associated with grading and preserving the local ecology. OmniTrack’s terrain-following capabilities are a highly effective solution for the challenging terrains on which PV plants are often constructed in Türkiye. The project also includes Array SmarTrack, Array’s range of software and control-based products designed to optimise energy production.

Also included is Array SmarTrack Diffuse Weather Response software, which uses real-time weather data it continuously receives from an on-site global horizontal irradiance sensor to optimise energy capture during cloudy or overcast sky conditions. Array SmarTrack Terrain Adaptive Backtracking software adjusts tracker angles to optimise energy production and reduce row-to-row shading during periods of low sun height and on sites with sloping terrain.

“This solar project reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure that supports Türkiye’s growing energy needs” said Özhan Olcay, Chairman of Pekintas Group. “By combining the strength of our group companies in the supply chain and local expertise with strong project execution, we are proud to contribute to the expansion of reliable, efficient renewable energy capacity across the country. This project will be the first in the YEKA programme in Türkiye to operate using high efficiency TOPCON+ cells produced with the combined industrial excellence of Pekintas Group, and we aim for the facility to exceed performance and output standards.”
