Founded in 2007, PV CYCLE is today’s clear leader in collecting and recycling end-of-life PV modules. Since the start of its operations in all EU and EFTA countries in 2010, PV CYCLE has registered more than 3,400 tonnes of collected PV modules under its take-back and recycling scheme.

With its comprehensive partner network, consisting of more than 240 certified collection points, experienced waste haulers and specialized recycling facilities, PV CYCLE has the necessary infrastructure in place to meet the constantly increasing volumes of end-of-life PV modules.

“PV CYCLE worked hard to become The leading solution for end-of-life PV modules and we are prepared to take our scheme to the next level”, says Wilfried Taetow, President of PV CYCLE. “Our mission to offer best-in-class solutions will drive us in our future projects and will help us to foster our leadership role”.

At Intersolar Europe, PV CYCLE will celebrate its development from a voluntary industry initiative to the leading take-back and recycling program together with its numerous members. Today, more than 240 members from across the world and the PV value chain trust in PV CYCLE’s unique services.

“PV CYCLE started as a voluntary initiative with the goal of implementing a sustainable and cost-efficient solution for the end-of-life treatment of PV modules. Today, only five years later, we represent about 90% of the European PV market and are leading in many aspects of our business, also when compared to similar schemes of other industries”, said Jan Clyncke, Managing Director of PV CYCLE, when describing the organization’s development.

At this year’s Intersolar Europe, PV CYCLE will also reveal a new booth design. The PV CYCLE booth, located in Hall B5 at Stand 234, will provide visitors and network partners with interesting insights into the organisation’s achievements and program steps.

In addition to its exhibition presence, PV CYCLE is also co-organising the Recycling Management Conference, taking place on 13 June at 1.30 pm. Together with representatives from the European Commission and national authorities, Mr. Wilfried Taetow will discuss the impact of the new WEEE Directive on PV module collection and recycling. “In order to enable our members to continue operating on the European PV market, we will proactively participate in the development of WEEE legislations that can meet the nature of our product and business”, he said.
