Solar power momentum reaches India

SolarPlaza organizes business trip for solar executives in February. The Clinton foundation in negotiations to launch the world's largest solar facility in the country.

Those looking for business opportunities in India's fast-growing solar market should write down these dates on their agenda: from 16 to 20 February 2009, SolarPlaza will be holding its first international PV trade mission to India.
Alongside a substantial expansion in the crystalline and thin-film silicon industry, India is also experiencing rapid development in its domestic market. Federal and State government support programs have led to several large scale PV power plant initiatives. The U.S.-based Foundation of former USA President Bill Clinton is in talks with the state government of Gujarat to establish the world's largest solar power project at a cost of about $5 billion.

The trade mission program will include visits to emerging crystalline and thin-film manufacturers. A one-day conference will also form part of the program, with pr esentations from all relevant stakeholders involved in the development of the Indian PV market. The purpose of the trade mission is to explore new business opportunities in the Indian PV market and industry.
And of course, the informal elements of the program, with visits to Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad, will help make this an exciting and unforgettable event.

Twenty international PV executives are expected to attend, offering excellent high-level networking opportunities. The participants will be CEOs, Business Development Managers and other senior experts from system integrators, project developers, investors (in solar parks), utility companies and the manufacturing industry. A more detailed program, including a registration form and general information, is available at www.pvtourindia.com.
