solarhybrid AG develops 150 MW solar power plant in Brandenburg

solarhybrid AG has entered into a partnership with Airport Development A/S, which also operates the Magdeburg-Cochstedt Airport in Saxony-Anhalt to develop a 150 MW Pv solar plant at a former military airport in Brandenburg, Germany.

When it is completed, the site will be leased to sohy Neuhardenberg GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of solarhybrid AG, under a long-term agreement.

This special purpose company will, under the lead of solarhybrid AG, carry out and finance the project development.

The Fürstenwalde municipal council gave its approval to the plan on 14 December 2011.

Construction is expected to get under way in July 2012, with connection to the grid currently planned for next December.

The Neuhardenberg, Brandenburg location will also become the new home of solarhybrid AG’s operations and maintenance department. The newly-formed solarhybrid Operations & Maintenance GmbH will soon move into offices and a warehouse at the site.
