The go-ahead for Cantone marks a further step forward for GreenGo’s proprietary portfolio in the wind power sector and follows just a few months after the authorisation of La Motta, a 12 MW project also being developed in the Foggia area. With these two projects, the total capacity of GreenGo’s wind farms for which a Single Authorisation has been granted in the Foggia area rises to 26 MW.
The close succession of these two decisions provides continuity to the company’s development work in Puglia and demonstrates the tangible growth of a multi-technology pipeline that GreenGo is progressively transforming into authorised capacity and operational plants as it moves towards a fully integrated Independent Power Producer model.
Puglia remains a key region in this trajectory. For GreenGo, it is a region with deep industrial and entrepreneurial roots, where wind power development goes hand in hand with a well-established presence in photovoltaics, agrivoltaics and energy storage systems. Within this portfolio, the Foggia area represents the region with the highest concentration of projects and a key focus for the Group’s growth in utility-scale wind power.
“The authorisation for Cantone, coming just a few months after that for La Motta, consolidates GreenGo’s presence in the Apulian wind energy sector and provides continuity to the work we are carrying out in a region that is strategic for us” said Alberto Piva, Business Development and M&A Director at GreenGo. “With Cantone, the number of authorised projects in 2026 across the Marche, Puglia and Calabria regions rises to five: two solar power plants, one agrivoltaic project and two wind farms. Securing two wind farm authorisations in the same region within a few months demonstrates the extent of our capabilities. We are continuing with determination and expertise to bring these projects to fruition, ensuring the continuous growth of our portfolio.”
With the authorisation for Cantone, GreenGo is therefore strengthening its industrial presence in Puglia, with the national RTB share rising to over 733 MW of renewable energy, comprising wind, BESS, solar and agrivoltaic projects. The Foggia area, with 245 MW under development, remains the area with the highest concentration within the Apulian portfolio due to the strong presence of wind projects in one of the windiest regions of Southern Europe.
This portfolio accounts for 18 percent of the company’s proprietary pipeline and confirms Puglia’s role as a key region in GreenGo’s growth. Nationwide, the company has a pipeline exceeding 2 GW, spread across 12 Italian regions and comprising approximately 80 per cent proprietary projects.
