Hydrogenera Expands Into Germany With 2 MW Green Hydrogen Project

Hydrogenera is delivering a 2-MW alkaline electrolyzer system for a green hydrogen project that will supply industrial offtakers in Germany. The project is financed by a German government grant, marking a significant milestone in Hydrogenera's European expansion and in the development of state-backed hydrogen infrastructure across the continent.

Hydro Future GmbH, Hydrogenera's German integration partner, has signed a contract with LE Power GmbH to implement the project. The electrolyser system will be commissioned in Ukraine, producing hydrogen at a purity of 99.999 per cent for delivery to designated industrial customers in Germany.

Project Scope and Technical Delivery

The system is engineered for stable industrial operation and long-term performance at a nominal capacity of 2 MW.
Hydrogenera's scope includes:
  • Design and manufacturing of alkaline electrolyser stacks
  • Integration of balance of plant systems
  • Power and electrical systems
  • Factory and site acceptance tests
  • Installation, commissioning and initial service support
  • Personnel training and full technical documentation
On-site engineering, procurement and construction will be coordinated by the project integrator and local partners.
Commissioning is scheduled for June 2027.

Supplying German Industry Through Cross-Border Infrastructure

The hydrogen produced in Ukraine will be supplied to industrial offtakers in Germany, establishing a structured cross-border value chain within Europe.

Financing from a German government grant underscores the strategic importance of this supply corridor and reflects the growing role of state institutions in accelerating investment in hydrogen infrastructure.

This project demonstrates how regional production capacity can be developed to reliably serve industrial demand across European markets at scale, with the engineering rigour required for multi-megawatt applications.

LE Power GmbH contributes experience in renewable energy integration across the European Union and Eastern Europe. In cooperation with Hydro Future GmbH and Hydrogenera, the project supports the continued development of hydrogen infrastructure aligned with Europe's long-term energy transition objectives.
