First Reserve to buy Gamesa Solar

The Spanish company has been quite successful in the last years in the development, construction and sale of solar PV parks. The company, which employes over 100 employees, posted revenues in excess of 200 m euros last year.

"We are very excited about this investment opportunity. Gamesa Solar has a leading position in the Spanish photovoltaic market that is among the most sophisticated in the world. We plan to support the solar team in replicating this presence internationally," said Mr Francesco Giuliani, Director of First Reserve, referring to this transaction where Citigroup acted as financial advisor to Gamesa.
