French tender rules boosting demand for compliant solar panels

Innotech Solar AS says it's seen a marked increase in demand for its solar panels since France incorporated the carbon footprint if solar modules as a compulsory evaluation criterion in national tenders.
French tender rules boosting demand for compliant solar panels

As explained by the Scandinavian-German manufacturer in a written statement, the new requirement has been assigned a weight of one third during the selection process, and that's augured well for its products.

“The French government made a low carbon footprint an essential evaluation criterion for solar projects of between 100 and 250 kWp," said Dr. Thomas Hillig, Vice President Module Sales & Marketing at Innotech Solar.

"Environmentally friendly modules are much more likely to be selected during the evaluation process – especially as companies are now scarcely able to use price to stand out from their competitors due to a tightening market environment,” he said. “This has increased demand for our solar modules."

Hillig  added, "Thanks to our particularly green production process, the carbon footprint of Innotech Solar modules is around 70 percent lower than that of modules using conventional cells.”

The Dutch test institute SmartGreenScans, which specializes in the life cycle analysis of photovoltaic systems, has certified the carbon footprint of Innotech Solar modules.
