The contract stipulates the sale of 390 GWh of solar energy per year, through a daytime PPA that will come into force in October 2026. This energy will be generated by the platform of projects that Grenergy is developing in central Chile. Of the total committed, 110 GWh per year will be supplied over a 15-year period, while the remaining 280 GWh will be delivered over a 12-year term.
With more than 12 years of experience in Chile, Grenergy leads the development of clean energy plants, with close to 100 projects completed. The company currently manages a platform with 4.6 GW of solar energy and 18.3 GWh of storage.
This new agreement adds to the numerous long-term power purchase agreements the company has signed on a nightly, daytime, and 24/7 basis. One example is the recently signed agreement with the world’s largest copper producer, Codelco, for the supply of 0.5 TWh of green energy per year—24 hours a day, seven days a week—as well as several agreements signed for Oasis de Atacama, one of the world’s largest storage projects.
In this context, Grenergy will hold its Capital Markets Day on May 28th in London, where it will present an updated investment plan through 2027, and its new projects focused on energy storage.
Daniel Lozano, Chief of Strategy and Capital Markets, stated, “This daytime PPA adds to the deals Grenergy has closed in recent months and reflects our ability to execute and reach long-term commitments. Together, they form the basis on which we are developing the new hybridisation projects that we will present at our Capital Markets Day on May 28."
