Because the scalable plug-and-play system can be dismantled quickly and easily, it is also suitable for roofs in need of renovation and seasonal systems. For off-grid applications, the new solution for containers can save expensive construction electricity.
Installers can order the SmartSolarBox directly from the Swiss company or from its license partners throughout Europe. They deliver the PV system, which has been patented in Europe, pre-assembled, wired and ballasted directly to the construction site on returnable pallets.
A crane brings the SmartSolarBox to the roof, where all you have to do is unfold it. A maximum of three installers only need a cordless screwdriver for installation. Without roof penetration, they can install the system made of Magnelis on flat roofs made of foil, bitumen or gravel up to an inclination of 5 degrees. Storage and charging infrastructure can be supplemented.
Assembly time further reduced
"The SmartSolarBox is the only foldable solar system with lightning current capability ex works and retrofittable fall protection," says Smartvolt CEO Andreas Fankhauser. Previously, installers had to retrofit lightning protection. Because the new version is now also suitable for 600-watt modules, Smartvolt has succeeded in reducing the installation time even further. Instead of 200 kilowatts per day as before, three solar installers can now install even 300 kilowatts per day.

"Because the crane carries the entire weight, including ballast, no one has to haul modules or heavy stones, which increases both employee health and occupational safety.
