Palo Alto-based Ausra has announced the construction of an assembly plant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The capacity of the Las Vegas plant will be an impressive 700 MW per year. "We're going to make twice as much stuff in a year as the entire world solar industry is making today," said Mr John O'Donnell, Ausra's Executive VP.
Mr O'Donnell said that the company would need 1.7 GW by 2020, so we can expect more announcements like this.
