Solar PV Power: when will it reach grip parity?

This will obviously happen some time earlier in countries with more expensive electricity and similar radiation levels; some experts even expect it to happen in two or three years in Southern Europe.

According to Clean Edge's study, which was created based on interviews with numerous solar stakeholders and additional solar industry data, prices of solar PV electricity could be in the range of 8-18 dollar cents per kWh in 2015 and 4-8 dollar cents per kWh by 2025.

No doubt, the prospects are good. The industry is ongoing a great technological revolution, with a lot of capital invested in new solar material developments, which might accelerate even more the grid parity process, although nobody knows what technology will in the end become mainstream then. What everybody agrees on is the fact that once grid parity is a reality, the sky will be the limit for the solar industry.
