Solarvalue AG and Moser Baer PV join forces

The acquisition will guarantee Moser Baer the supply of high grade solar wafers while helping Solarvalue to increase its silicon production levels. 'It is a win-win situation for Solarvalue and Moser Baer as both companies will now have a presence in the entire PV value chain,' said Ms Claudia Boehringer, CEO of Solarvalue. 'Our short-term production goals and the next steps for refurbishment remain the same. Moser Baer's longstanding experience in commercialising technology and rapid scale up will foster our position in the global PV market. We also expect further synergies from this partnership.' she added. The German company plans to reach a capacity of 4,400 tonnes of solar grade silicon by the end of next year.

Also related to its solar activities, Moser Baer PV recently announced the creation of the world's largest thin film solar manufacturing plant, which comes on top of its recent investments in several American solar technology companies. Additionally, the firm has an 80 MW crystaline silicon manufacturing plant under testing, ready to start commercial production this month.
