The two ground-mounted and two tracker solar PV plants are located in the Apulia region of southern Italy.

Sonnedix has continued to expand its presence throughout Italy during 2019, adding a 1.7MW two solar PV plant portfolio in March and the 1.7MW Tarquinia and Castellito portfolio in April. This latest acquisition brings Sonnedix’s operating capacity in Italy to 186MW.

“The latest Italy acquisition further consolidates Sonnedix’s position as a leading IPP in this major Europe market” said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix. “We are actively seeking opportunities to pursue our growth strategy in Italy and have the 200MW operational capacity milestone in our sights. Sonnedix’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence as we develop, own and operate assets for the long-term, and ability to execute acquisitions rapidly, underpins our growth strategy in all OECD markets.”

For this transaction, Sonnedix was advised by RaffaelliSegreti (Legal), Duff & Phelps REAG (Technical) and RSM Studio Palea Lauri Gerla (Tax).
