Florida-based Solis Energy has good news for web surfers and connected people. It has designed a solar Wi-Fi router that can be used when grid electricity is not available.
The product is part of Solis' solar gadgets series, normaly made up of an array of batteries and solar panels, which can enable the product to be energy independent for up to one week.
Solis' products are being used at the moment for communication and security purposes, as normally these applications require a continuous flow of energy in order to keep on working seamlessly.
The American company expects to apply its technology in other areas in the future. Maybe soon we all will be able to have a solar panel on our back heating our coat during the window and powering our iPods!
