The National Sustainability Awards celebrate organisations and individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to positive environmental impact. This year, nominees from various sectors were shortlisted in an expanded range of categories covering sustainable business practices, environmental initiatives and green innovation.

The event brings together industry professionals to share ideas and knowledge, and to foster collaboration to continue addressing some of the most pressing environmental challenges.

Katrick Technologies won the Energy Innovation Award. This category is dedicated to new and exciting developments in the green energy sector. Nominees this year included OVO, nuclear energy project Sizewell C, and sustainable data center company atNorth.

Katrick Technologies won the award for its new Wind Panel technology, a novel wind power generation system. The panel’s unique design means that it can capture a wider range of wind speeds and frequencies at lower altitudes than conventional wind turbines and can be installed even in urban and built-up areas.

Katrick Technologies worked with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to develop a prototype of the panel, which is currently undergoing testing to validate it to Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL6).

“There were some truly inspirational organizations and environmental initiatives nominated for the National Sustainability Awards this year, and to even be included in the shortlist alongside so many major players in the energy sector is an honour,” said Katrick Technologies’ CEO, Vijay Madlani.

“As an innovator in the Greentech sphere, we’re always striving to create new technologies that will have a positive impact on the environment and help to build a sustainable future. Winning this award and knowing that our work and commitment are being recognized at this level is a privilege.”

Katrick Technologies has already received widespread recognition for its unique innovations and dedication to clean energy. In 2022, the company was included in the PwC Net Zero Future50 and received nominations at the 2022 Energy Awards and in the KPMG Tech Innovator of the Year scheme. It also won the Start-Up award at the 2022 Barclays Entrepreneur Awards.

By securing the Energy Innovation Award at the National Sustainability Awards 2023, Katrick Technologies has reinforced its position as a pioneer in green technology and highlighted the company's commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable energy solutions. This latest win proves that Katrick Technologies is one to watch in the journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
