Dynavolt inaugurates mass production of lithium batteries in China

German battery developer Dynavolt has inaugurated its new mass production lithium battery facility in the Southern Chinese province of Fujian.
Dynavolt inaugurates mass production of lithium batteries in China

The company has invested 400 million euros in the factory, which will have a yearly production of 6 GWh and could be used to build 200,000 electric vehicles per year. The fully automated, intelligent high-speed lithium battery cells production line uses top leading equipment from South Korea and Japan, with an output of more than 200 units per minute, three times that of other similar plants.

The factory joins another 6 GWh per annum facility in Hubei province. With further initiatives, the two facilities will serve to achieve a combined lithium battery manufacturing capacity of 25 GWh per year in 2020.

Wynnertech will be one of the first power electronics manufacturers to provide electricity storage installation and management hardware for these battery cells, by using its new development, an innovative compact, flexible modular system with a highly efficient battery management system and independent control of each battery series, which is aimed at commercial and industrial applications from 30 kW up to utility-scale multimegawatt plants.

This combination will also be used for integration in several ongoing battery electricity storage system (BESS) developments by Durion. These will provide the required experience in the provision of grid support services and its proprietary energy management system. Durion will start to build a 100 MW, 200 MWh BESS in Eastern Germany, later this year, aimed at the provision of primary frequency regulation and other ancillary services to the grid.

These milestones represent further steps by Dynavolt in building its clean energy industrial chain, and a strong guarantee to further increase the competitiveness of the affiliate companies of the Dynavolt Group in renewable power, electric vehicle and electricity storage.

Durion is a German developer, designer, integrator and operator of battery systems, with extensive experience in the construction and management of electricity storage for new energy supply and power regulation markets. In 2013, the company constructed a 2 MWh battery power plant in Europe for commercial reserve operation and is currently developing a 100 MW, 200 MWh battery power plant sited in its German headquarters near the Baltic Sea.

Wynnertech is a Spanish-Chinese manufacturer of proprietary technology power electronics equipment and components for power generation and storage, EV charging and grid support and testing, with European design and quality standards and competitive Chinese manufacturing, resulting in advanced state of the art systems with the best price-performance ratio of the market.

Dynavolt is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and is a manufacturer and developer with three main divisions: Advanced Batteries (of several different technologies), Electric Vehicle (manufacturing and leasing / sharing) and New and Renewable Energy, the latter including advanced power technology manufacturing, EPC / BOT, renewable power and electricity storage projects development and investment, and power distribution and sale.
