Clenergy and Obton Close Sale of 65MW Solar Project

With a rating of 65 MW, a solar farm project located in Germany becomes Obton's largest development to date. The project was purchased from Australian-Chinese company Clenergy.

“Clenergy is very pleased to have secured Obton as buyer of our solar farm and closed the transaction on this showcase project in Germany,” commented Daniel Hong, chief executive officer of Clenergy.

“Obton has been the right partner with their experienced gained for more than 10 years and in over 160 deals globally,” Hong said.

Daniel Ruoss, GM of the Global Project Business in Clenergy, said “the 65MW solar farm is one of the largest PV projects in Germany for many years and is financed by Norddeutsche Landesbank (“Nord/LB”)”

The solar farm is set to be one of the largest PV parks in the country once completed. It is slated to begin commercial operations in June this year.

"We are excited to expand our activities to the German market, where we still see great potential. Germany has an ambitious target to have 65 percent of its energy mix covered by renewable energy sources in 2030, and we at Obton are pleased with being able to contribute to this transition," Obton chief executive, Anders Marcus, said.

The new project is being installed in Ganzlin, Germany.
