Enfinity and SunPower to develop solar projects together

Through the agreement, both companies aim to develop more than 25 MW in the coming year.

Enfinity, a Belgian developer of renewable energy, and SunPower Corporation, a Californian solar technology company, will start constructing plants as soon as 2008 or 2009. The plants will be located in Italy, and possibly also in Spain and Greece, which are the European countries with the best radiation and feed-in tariffs at the moment.

“I am very pleased to announce this framework agreement with Sunpower. We consider this as a strategic partnership in the further development of our solar business,” said Mr.Gino Van Neer, CEO of Enfinity.

“We are teaming with Enfinity to deliver clean, reliable solar power to the rapidly expanding market in Southern Europe," said Mr Howard Wenger, SunPower senior VP. "By using SunPower’s industry-leading solar technology, Enfinity will maximize the energy delivery at their power plant sites, while optimizing land use and reducing related costs.", he added.
