The park will be sitting on more than 40 hectares and it will require an investment of 65 million euros. The park is scheduled to be connected by mid 2008.
More than 75% of the capital used in the facility will be sourced by small private investors. The remaining funding will be provided by two big shareholders.
Avila, located just 100 km North West of Madrid, is a great area for solar parks, as the number of hours of sun are among Spain's highest and cool summer temperatures in this area (with altitudes often above 1000 m) do not take as much efficiency from the panels as they do in Southern Spain.
